Nebraska's future Journalist of the Year

Hello everyone! My name is Emma Whaley, and I'm a senior at Omaha Central High School. I've been on staff for our student newspaper, The Register, for three years, holding the title of Executive Editor my junior year and Editor-in-Chief my senior year.

I had never given journalism a second thought before I was accidentally placed in a journalism class my freshman year. Since then, it has become a passion. I have become passionate about using my skills to spread stories that need to be told to the people who need to hear them. I hope you see this passion as you look over my work in this portfolio.
